Stainless Steel Alloy 255, Ferralium® Alloy 255

Stainless Steel Alloy 255 is a solid strengthened alloy that offers high strength and outstanding wear resistance. Also sold under the brand name of Ferralium® Alloy 255, this cost effective alloy has a number of beneficial characteristics including:

Resistance to corrosion, pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-stress corrosion cracking

High strength-to-weight ratio

Over twice the mechanical strength of regular stainless steels such as Alloy 20

In order to be labeled as Stainless Steel Alloy 255, an alloy must contain the following chemical composition:

Cr {{0}}.0 percent

Ni 4.5-6.5 percent

Mo 2.9-3.9 percent

Cu 1.5-2.5 percent

Mn 1.5 percent max

Si 1.0 percent max
